Obituary

Tony Moniaga of Chino Hills, California, passed away at the age of 65 on December 11, 2022.
He was born on November 8, 1957 in Surabaya, Indonesia as the fifth among 6 children. At the
age of 9 he moved to Belgium and graduated from the Higher Architecture Institute of Antwerp
in 1986. Upon graduating, he served one year in the Belgian army then pursued his dreams to
design grand skyscrapers only found in the USA at the time. He eventually immigrated to
California and was hired as an architect for Coca-Cola. In 1985, Tony met the love of his life
Esther, and the two married in 1991. Following marriage, Tony and Esther had two sons:
Matthew and Daryl. He was called into ministry and began serving as a pastor for VLMI where
he faithfully shepherded the church for many years. Tony later combined his faith and passion
for architecture when he joined the Christian non-profit organization World Vision International
where he served impoverished children globally for 21 years. He enjoyed traveling and loved
music, cars, and racing. Tony will be remembered as a man of God who loved Jesus and his
family dearly, willing to sacrifice everything for them. He was a mentor to many and his legacy
will continue to impact generations to come. Tony dedicated his life to bringing glory to Christ.

Tony is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ogi and Bep Moniaga.
He is survived by his siblings: Frank, Loeky, Harry, Hans, and Jeny; Wife and sons: Esther,
Matthew and Daryl; daughter-in-law Erin and his grandsons: Noah and Luke.
