In Loving Memory
Lorencia Lorraine Reyes
August 10, 1936 - October 04, 2025
"Aloha ke akua — God is love."
Lorraine Lorencia Reyes, beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on August 10, 1936 in Kealakekua, Hawaii where her deep sense of Ohana, tradition and faith first took root. Lorraine was the devoted wife of Joseph Caluya Reyes Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, faith, and enduring partnership. They are now both back together again praying the rosary and dancing in heaven.
Lorraine's greatest joy was her Ohana. She and Joseph raised six children. Roetta Christine Rock (Mark), Monalyn Catherine Tarin, Josanne Celeste Huggett (Joe), Sharie Lou Cathleen Morales (Rocky), David Christopher Reyes (Roxanne), and Joseph Caluya Reyes Jr.—each of whom carries forward her spirit of warmth, generosity, and resilience. Lorraine was a proud grandmother to twenty five grandchildren and a guiding presence to thirty three great‑grandchildren who were blessed to know her gentle heart.
Known as "Indai" to some close friends and family; Lorraine's heart knew no limits when it came to giving. A devout Catholic she was deeply passionate about helping those in need and supported numerous causes throughout her life — including the Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude's, several Religious Foundations, and BoysTown, a foundation supporting orphaned and at-risk boys. Her generosity and empathy were boundless; she found joy in knowing it would lift others in need.
Those who knew our mother Lorraine will forever remember her grace, her faith, and her ability to make family feel like the most sacred and steady thing in the world. Her legacy lives on in the memories created with our dad in song and dance whilst playing the Ukelele and singing and dancing hula to Hawaiian songs.
Funeral services will be held to celebrate Lorraine's life and the immeasurable love she gave her Ohana . She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
A hui hou~Until we meet again, may her spirit of compassion and aloha shine brightly in us all
